Mimi Seely is a Charleston, South Carolina based artist.
Mimi creates intuitive, mixed-media abstract work inspired by nature, emotion, and everyday moments. Rather than starting with a plan, each piece begins with instinctive marks, scribbles, or patterns that feel right in the moment. These elements gradually build into abstract compositions that function like visual journals and artifacts of experience. Butterflies, florals, and organic forms appear often, emerging naturally rather than symbolically.
Before pursuing art full-time, Mimi worked as a mental health therapist, where creativity was one of her favorite tools for reflection and connection. That background continues to inform her practice today. For Mimi, art is a bridge between the present moment and the subconscious – a space where intuition, emotion, and memory are allowed to surface without needing to be resolved.
